Install / Reseat Memory (RAM)

Tools needed

  • • Anti-static wrist strap (recommended)

Safety first

  • • Power off and unplug; hold power button 10s to discharge.
  • • Handle RAM by the edges; avoid the gold contacts.

Steps

  1. 1Open the side panel and locate the RAM slots near the CPU.
  2. 2Push the clips at both ends of a slot outward to release a stick.
  3. 3Reinsert ONE stick firmly into the primary slot until both clips snap in. Test boot.
  4. 4If it posts, power off and add the remaining sticks one at a time, testing each.
  5. 5If a stick never posts in any slot, it has failed — replace it with a compatible module.
